Privacy Policy of Oratio

This policy describes how Oratio handles user information. Oratio is a mobile application developed by Simão Santos and distributed through Google Play.
1. Information we do NOT collect
Oratio is an application that runs entirely on the user's device. We do not have our own servers where we store personal information. Specifically, we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable data.
- Your geographic location.
- Information about your device beyond what is strictly necessary for the app to work (operating system, system language).
- Usage data sent to external servers.
- Contacts, photos, files, or any information stored on your device outside the app itself.
2. Information stored locally on your device
The application stores certain information solely on your device, without transmitting it to any server. This information includes:
- Your progress in the app (words seen, consecutive-day streak, completed challenges).
- Your preferences (selected language, notification settings).
- Your list of favorite words.
- Your premium subscription status, managed through Google Play Billing.
This information stays on your device. If you uninstall the application, this information is deleted (except if you have Google's automatic backup enabled, in which case Google backs it up according to its own policies).
3. Subscriptions and payments
Premium subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing. Oratio has no access to your payment information. Google is responsible for processing, storing, and securing financial data. See the Google Play privacy policy for more information.
We use RevenueCat as a technical intermediary to manage subscription status. RevenueCat only receives an anonymous identifier associated with your subscription, with no personally identifiable information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy for more details.
4. Local notifications
If you enable daily reminders, Oratio schedules local notifications on your device to remind you of your word of the day. These notifications are generated and managed entirely on your device. They are not sent from any external server and do not involve data transmission.
5. Audio
The application includes pronunciation audio for the words, generated with ElevenLabs technology. The audio is included in the application; it is not generated or downloaded dynamically during use.
6. Device permissions
The application requests the following permissions to work:
- Notifications (Android 13 and above): to send you daily reminders if you have enabled this feature.
- Local storage: to save your progress and preferences.
We do not request access to the camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive permission.
7. Minors
Oratio is not specifically designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the application, contact us so we can take appropriate measures (however, since we do not collect personal information, this case is highly unlikely).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The last-updated date at the top of this document reflects when the most recent change was made. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
